BEES2 SRO Event Recap
Case Western Reserve University hosted the 2025 annual meeting for the BEES2 Student Research Organization (SRO) on October 30th and 31st, aiming to explore strategies for effective collaboration and share best practices for collaborative interdisciplinary research through shared examples. The day started with a warm welcome remark from the Director Burcu Gurkan, followed by research presentations from the SRO members, an amazing Career Development workshop led by Aysegul Zeren (CWRU Career Center), and a visit to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The second day included research presentations, planning for the coming SRO activist, and a fun team-building exercise led by Eliandreina Cruz Barrios, BEES2 postdoc at TAMU. Attendees participated in interdisciplinary discussions through research presentations and cultural events, highlighting the importance of teamwork and diversity in educational environments. The annual meeting provides a meaningful platform to identify best practices for collaborative research and to forge a strong support network for early-career researchers.
