News About Laura Bruckman
When Laura Bruckman was ten years old, she wrote in her journal that she wanted to be a scientist when she grew up. Now, she is the newest Materials Science & Engineering tenure track faculty member.
Laura Bruckman always new she wanted to be a scientist. With a background as a chemist, she received a bachelor's in chemistry with a specialization in biochemistry and went on to study analytical chemistry in graduate school, building two different instruments and learning data science. In 2011, she came to CWRU as a postdoc and from there advanced to become an assistant then associate research faculty member. Now, she joins the university as an associate professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
A recent Ph.D. graduate from CWRU, Erika Barcelos is joining SDLE as a postdoctoral scholar.
After spending two years as the Chief Reliability Engineer at Canadian Solar Inc. in Suzhou, China, Xuanji Yu is bringing his skills to Case Western Reserve University’s SDLE Research Center as a postdoctoral scholar.
Hugh Smith recently completed his senior project and will spend Spring 2022 as a research and development intern at The Battery Innovation Center.
