About

Welcome to the Mesoscale Science Lab

Carter's Vision

I would like to be recognized as a translational materials scientist; innovative and collaborative, searching for ways to break down barriers in research, educations, and institutions. I am an expert "jack of all trades" and a master of participating on teams to tackle engineering challenges that require the design of interfaces in materials and devices. I would like to lead by enabling others.

Mission

We engineer agnostic experimental processes that can be translatable to solving disparate manufacturing and design challenges of interface-rich materials.

We focus on the development and implementation of novel mesoscale material quantification methods for correlating unique local microstructural features with particular mechanical and environmental responses in a variety of material systems. The goal is to develop experimental and analytical models of material behavior.
