Kathryn Daltorio co-organizing workshop at inaugural IEEE soft robotics conference
The event—RoboSoft—will take place in Livorno, Italy, April 24-28, and Daltorio’s all-day workshop, entitled “Towards Soft Perceptive Robots: From Robotic and Biologically Inspired Solutions to Soft Sensing Technologies,” will be held on April 24.
Daltorio conducts research in Case Western Reserve’s Biologically Inspired Robotics Lab, where she specializes in applying complex natural behaviors and capabilities found in animals to advanced robotics.
She is co-organizing the workshop along with Lucia Beccai from the Center of Micor-BioRobotics at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. The workshop will present critical examples of sensing in soft bodies from both biology and robotics, and will explore challenges and emerging technologies related to soft and functional materials and sensing design.
