Your Connection to Gaining Engineering Experience

As an engineering or computer science student at Case Western Reserve University, the Cooperative Program The Cooperative Education Program (Co-op) is an academic program that provides you a unique opportunity to take time off from classes to gain hands-on engineering work experience. The program also gives you a head start on your job search since most companies use co-op as a pipeline for future employment!

Co-op is a full-time, two-semester, paid work experience. Typical work terms are spring and summer and summer and fall. Second-, third-, and fourth-year students and graduate students are eligible to participate although students are encouraged to start the job search process one year prior to their co-op. Co-op is non-credit, however, course registration maintains your full-time status.
