The Reinberger Design Studio

The Reinberger Design Studio (RDS) offers a total of 33 Dell 2.13 GHz Dual Core computers running Windows XP Professional, for Undergraduate Student design use. These machines are connected via a Gigabit local area network to 3 Dell Dual processor servers running Windows NT 4.0 Server or Windows Server 2003.

The Reinberger Design Studio is tied directly to the campus network allowing information to be shared with the HAMCL and other network resources. The Reinberger Design Studio is used for the instruction of the SolidWorks 2008 SP4.0 CAD software, MasterCam X2 MR2 CAM software, and Abaqus CAE 6.8 FEA software. The RDS offers a Stratasys Dimension SST rapid prototyping machine for generating Rapid Prototyping Models from SolidWorks and MasterCam models. The RDS also offers a HAAS CNC OM1 mini-milling center for high speed machining of small parts.

The lab is accessible to students enrolled in EMAE 172, EMAE 290, EMAE 390, and Senior Design, 24 hours a day 7days a week via card access.
