Private industry and academic partners have the opportunity to access the state of the art capabilities of CAPP through a number of solution offerings.

 

Sponsored Research

Case Western Reserve University faculty, their graduate teams, and post-doctoral researchers can be brought to bear to assist outside partners in their pursuit to overcome technology and innovation challenges by performing targeted research projects.  Funded through the partner, CAPP personnel can utilize the resources of the Center to perform investigations in the areas of:

  • Rheological Investigations of complex polymer-based materials including blends and composites and emulsions and suspensions
  • Use and development of In- and on-line sensors understand and control extrusion-based processes
  • Micro- and Nano-Layered co-extrusion
  • New processing technologies
  • Extensional Rheology
  • Rheological behavior of viscoelastic fluids
  • Multi-scale computational modeling of multiphase fluids

Research of this type is facilitated through the execution of a Sponsored Research Agreement.  Case Western Reserve University’s template contract is provided here.

Sponsored Services and Access to Facilities

 CAPP may be utilized to have materials characterized for their physical and mechanical properties.  Case Western Reserve University personnel and students may be engaged to perform analytical services with  the data and results provided back to the sponsor.   Partners may also be certified for their personnel’s own use of the CAPP equipment and perform such investigations independent of Case involvement.    Rates for services are provided here
