Pay Per Use

In this modality member and non-member companies contract CAPP to perform a specific and well-defined amount of work, typically under the form of a Service Agreement. Typical tasks include processing and compounding proof-of-concept and/or trial tests, and rheological characterization of materials, and can either be billed by the hour, or as a total workpackage.

 

Hourly rates for 2012 are:

Haake Minilab microcompounder and microextruder 1st four hours: $25/hour; After: $20/hour
Haake Minijet micro injection molding machine 1st four hours: $25/hour; After: $20/hour
Haake MARS III rotational rheometer 1st four hours: $15/hour; After: $10/hour
MARS III Rheo-FTIP and Rheoscope supplement $10/hour
CSER/SER extensional rheometers 1st four hours: $15/hour; After: $10/hour
Haake CaBER extensional rheometer 1st four hours: $15/hour; After: $10/hour
TA Instruments AR 2000 rotational rheometer 1st four hours: $15/hour; After: $10/hour
TA Instruments CSL 50 rotational rheometer 1st four hours: $10/hour; After: $5/hour
Oven $2.50/hour

 

The following discounts apply over the base rates:

1. CWRU and Federal: 60%
2. Tier 1 partners and former CWRU academia: 40%
3. Tier 2 partners: 20%

It is understood that no new IP is typiocally generated in this type of work, so prior company-owned IP is not affected.
