Svetlana Morozova, assistant professor in the Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering, has been selected as a 2024 American Chemical Society (ACS), Division of Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering (PMSE) Early Investigator.

The award, given to 24 professors, government researchers, and industry scientists across the field of polymer science this year, recognizes the "professional accomplishments of early-career investigators who are emerging leaders in the field of polymer science and engineering." Awardees are honored at the MSE Early Investigator Symposium in August where they are also invited to speak.

"I am very honored to be selected as part of the ACS PMSE Young Investigator award," Morozova said. "The award recognizes achievements of young faculty in terms of research and education, so it feels incredible to be acknowledged by the greater community on those fronts."

With research focused on polymer dynamics of solutions in gels in complex environments, Morozova's work is important for improving the sustainability of polymers and for the development of future materials.

In August, she will travel to Denver to present on "polymer dynamics near complex interfaces."
