Rodrigo Teixeira Schossler received Waheed Uddin Diversity Graduate Research Fellowship

Rodrigo Teixeira Schossler, a Ph.D. student advised by Prof. Xiong (Bill) Yu, has been selected as the recipient of the 2021-2022 Waheed Uddin Diversity Graduate Research Fellowship based on the student outstanding qualifications. The fellowship intends to increase access and opportunities to graduate education for students from under-represented and under-served communities and to increase graduate student diversity in the US DOT National University Transportion Center (UTC) TriDurLE, where the Case team led by Prof. Yu is a key partner.  (click for full story)

Rodrigo did his bachelor's degree and MS degree in Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil. Nowadays, he is the president of the Civil Engineering Graduate Student Association (CEGSA) and his current work includes the design of optimized and sustainable materials using machine learning models, and the analysis of infrastructure and condition assessment using image processing. Rodrigo will work with TriDurLE researchers to conduct research relevant to the USDOT strategic priority of "Improving the Durability and Extending the Life of Transportation Infrastructure."
