Student Opportunities

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering supports several engineering groups composed of both undergraduate and graduate students. These groups enhance the classroom experience through hands-on learning, professional and industry connections, community service, and personal enrichment.

American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)

Case Western Reserve students can get involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers in a variety of ways.

CWRU Civil Engineering Graduate Student Association

The Civil Engineering Graduate Student Association is a student organization that promotes interactions among graduate students and provides liaison between graduate students and department faculty. The association organizes activities such as seminars, professional development training, picnics and the like.

Engineers without Borders

Engineers Without Borders™ - USA (EWB-USA) is a nonprofit organization established in 2000. Its main aim is to assist developing areas worldwide with their engineering needs while at the same time training internationally responsible engineering students.

The Society of Women Engineers

Students at Case Western Reserve can get involved with the Society of Women Engineers.

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) has more than 10,000 members, making it the largest student-managed organization in the U.S.
