As GLEI's Executive Director, Grant is responsible for CWRU's engagement strategy with the U.S. Department of Energy and DOE's National Laboratories as well as cultivating additional institutional partnerships. He also leads GLEI's service support to affiliated faculty and runs GLEI's faculty sponsorship program. Additionally, he is responsible for GLEI's research and administrative funding strategy, goals, operations, staff business processes, marketing and strategic communications. Finally, he works closely with the GLEI Advisory Board to shape and advise energy-related research initiatives at CWRU.

Grant Goodrich, executive director of the university’s Great Lakes Energy Institute, described the steps homeowners need to take before installing solar panels. “If you are planning to replace your shingles in the next 10 years or anticipate needing to make some roof repairs in the near future, you’ll want to complete those before having solar installed,” he said.

Grant Goodrich, executive director of the university’s Great Lakes Energy Institute, discussed an electrical infrastructure upgrade among the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority’s first steps toward achieving net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions. “Getting products in and out of Europe and being able to advertise and market that you can do it in a more emissions-friendly manner gives you a competitive advantage,” Goodrich said.
