Xuehui Gong

I obtained my bachelor degree from Beijing University of Chemical Technology in Chemical Engineering and finished my Master program at Case Western Reserve University in June 2017.

I am currently a Ph.D student in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering who have Professor Donald L. Feke as my advisor and Professor Ica Manas-Zloczower as my co-advisor.

My research project focus on fabricating polyHIPE fiber, an emulsion-template porous fibers, and explore its applications in separation. In previous work, I studied the effect of curing bath conditions on the morphology of polyHIPE fibers and adjusted polyHIPE fibers’ surface openness successfully. Now we would like to do modifications on polyHIPE fibers and take advantage of its high surface area property to generate effective products in separation areas.
