Dr. Bryan Schmidt Joins EMAE

The EMAE department welcomes Dr. Bryan Schmidt, Assistant Professor, who joined our department as a new faculty member on January 1, 2020.

Bryan received his B.S. degree (summa cum laude) in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 2011, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Aeronautics from California Institute of Technology in 2012 and 2016, respectively, working on the stability of supersonic boundary layers with injection. He subsequently worked for three years as a postdoc at Ohio State University, where he initiated innovative research on optical flow velocimetry for turbulence and combustion.
