Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Ozan Akkus Inducted into American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering Fellows

Five Case Western Reserve University faculty members have been inductedinto the 2014 class of the prestigious American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE)’s College of Fellows.

CSE’s Sunniva Collins wins Technical Educator Award

Sunniva Collins, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, has been honored by the Cleveland Technical Societies Council with its 2014 Technical Educator Award.
The award is bestowed annually to individuals in the field of engineering who have demonstrated outstanding performance, creative ability and technical conduct in their profession.

Dr. Umut Gurkan and his team received grant to continue sickle cell research

A research team led by Dr. Umut Gurkan, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, received $486,000 from the Doris Duke Foundation to continue its work on sickle cell disease. The team is working to help predict acute crises and monitor the effectiveness of treatments.

The Case School of Engineering in U.S. News & World Report magazine

U.S. News & World Report: The Case School of Engineering is highlighted as having one of the largest climbs in the magazine’s engineering program rankings, jumping from No. 51 to 46.
