The mission of the EECS Department is to educate students that have the requisite technical breadth and communication skills to solve significant problems in industry and society through leadership and innovation in their fields, advance knowledge in EECS and multi-disciplinary areas through high-impact scholarship and research, and provide service to the profession, the university, the community, and society.


Congratulations on retiring to Frieda and George!

On December 21, 2018, the EECS department faculty and graduate students said thank you and goodbye to our Business Manager Frieda Mosby and Lab Technician George Daher. Their years of service to the EECS department are not underappreciated. Congratulations on retiring to Frieda and George!

Undergraduate Holiday Celebration!

On Monday, December 10, 2018, the EECS Department celebrated the holidays with its undergraduate students. Congrats on finishing out the semester, students!

Research on electrical power grids featured in Advanced Science News

The research of Professor Kenneth Loparo, Assistant Professor Marija Prica, Adjunct Assistant Professor Amirhossein Sajadi, and co-authors Vladimir and Luka Strezoski of the University of Novi Sad was featured in Advanced Science News in October.

Dr. Newman participates in groundbreaking NYSE ceremony

On October 22, 2018 EECS Professor Dr. Wyatt Newman participated in ringing the closing bell for the New York Stock Exchange. The UR5e, a cobot (collaborative robot) designed by Universal Robots, rang the bell to commemorate ROBO Global's 5th anniversary.
