As an intern on the distribution protection and control team we create the logic and settings for devices on our power lines.

• How did you find this opportunity? 

I found this opportunity through an online job posting.

• What has your experience been so far?

The experience has been great. I’ve been able to learn and grow in a technical role while also having the opportunity to physically see our work in the field.

• What are you most looking forward to?

I am looking forward to wrapping up the projects I have been working on this summer. I will also get to go on more field visits to see our substations and infrastructure.

• What's your best advice for students who might be looking for a similar opportunity?

Don’t let uncertainty turn you away from a great opportunity. I personally did not have any experience with the utility industry before this internship, but I’ve really enjoyed this job since I’ve started!
