Students: get your great ideas off the ground with Sears think[box] project funding

Funding opportunities exist for Case Western Reserve University students looking for support for personal projects, design competition entries, entrepreneurial activities and more.
The Sears think[box] Student Project Fund has been renewed thanks to support from the Codrington Foundation, and Fran and Jules Belkin. Awards up to $2,500 are available for undergraduate and graduate students.

Project topics can include engineering, art, sciences and humanities, among others. Past funded projects include:

  • Apollo Medical Devices – a novel blood testing device
  • Hedgemon – A bio-inspired concussion-preventing football helmet
  • Billion Bottle Project – A solar disinfection system that uses a UV-sensitive dye to indicate when bacteria have been activated
