Student team wins Air Force Research Laboratory competition
A joint team representing students from Case Western Reserve University and The Ohio State University (OSU) won the "Best Team Award" in the unconstrained category in the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) 3rd Annual Beyond 5G Challenge, tying with the University of Massachusetts Boston. The collaborative team used Software-Defined Radio (SDR) kits provided by the AFRL to demonstrate analog-inspired security techniques in wireless transceivers. The challenge builds students’ skills in SDR, an ideal platform to explore communication, sensing and networking applications.
Nine teams from 10 universities across the nation participated in the challenge, representing Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of California San Diego, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Boston University, Wright State University; UMASS Dartmouth, OSU/Case Western Reserve and University of Massachusetts Boston.
