Best Paper Award in RECOMB 2021
Serhan Yilmaz, PhD student in Computer Sciences, and Mehmet Koyuturk, the Andrew R. Jennings Professor of Computing Sciences, received the Best Paper Award during the virtual RECOMB 2021 international conference, selected out of 40 papers accepted. Yilmaz was the lead author on their paper "Robust Inference of Kinase Activity Using Functional Networks." RECOMB is one of the two leading and oldest conferences in computational biology, with a highly selective acceptance rate.
RECOMB 2021 is the 25th edition of a series of algorithmic computational biology conferences bridging the areas of computational, mathematical, statistical and biological sciences. The conference featured keynote talks by scientists in life sciences, presentations on research in computational biology selected over the course of a highly-rigorous peer-review process, and poster sessions on the latest research progress.
