Restoring a lost sense of touch

Dustin Tyler, the Kent H. Smith Professor II of Engineering and director of the Human Fusions Institute, spoke about his work in advanced prosthetics with people like Brandon Prestwood, a North Carolina worker who lost part of his arm in an industrial accident in 2012. The prosthetic hand that Tyler and his team developed gives Prestwood a sense of touch and pressure.
