An important milestone in the life of a collaborative translational research project is when the research passes through the Coulter continuum and is at the point of being adopted by an industrial partner. The role of industry in licensing technology is key to realizing commercialization of technology, improving in health care and eventually reaching patients. The tech transfer process typically begins with a discussion in general terms on the technology that may be of interest and then we often seek to complete a non-disclosure agreement so that you may more closely evaluate specific technical aspects of the invention. After evaluation the next step is to negotiate a license.
