Congratulations to Rakesh Shiradkar, PhD, and team, who received one of seven annual pilot awards supported by the Clinical & Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC). Dr. Shiradkar is a Research Assistant Professor in the Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics and Biomedical Engineering, Case School of Engineering. The grant supports the team as they develop radiomics for prostate cancer patients on active surveillance: “Development of a Prostate Cancer Risk Stratification Nomogram Integrating Clinical Variables and MRI Derived Radiomic Signatures for Patients on Active Surveillance”. The CTSC Annual Pilot Awards are funded through the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS). Awards are made for projects that support translation, defined by the NIH NCATS as “the process of turning observations in the laboratory, clinic and community into interventions that improve the health of individuals and the public — from diagnostics and therapeutics to medical procedures and behavioral changes.”
