Join CCIPD and TIE Global on October 29th, 8am PDT, 11am EDT, 8:30pm IST, for a panel on “AI for Precision Oncology” with Anant Madabhushi, PhD, Donnell Institute Professor, Biomedical Engineering, Case Western Reserve University; Vani Parmar, MS, DNB, Professor in Surgical Oncology & In-Charge Breast Surgical Oncology, Tata Memorial Centre; and Shlomo Koyfman, MD, Director of Radiation Oncology & Bioethics, Taussig Cancer Institute, Cleveland Clinic.
This workshop will describe partnerships in AI and computational pathology for precision medicine in the context of oral and breast cancer between Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and the Tata Memorial Cancer Center in Mumbai, India.
This ongoing partnership over the last four years has resulted in the development of novel AI tools that in conjunction with routine tissue biopsy images of oral cancer and breast cancer allow for risk stratification of the disease, in turn allowing for identifying which patients can avoid aggressive therapies like chemotherapy. A unique aspect of the technology is that being "digital", it is non-destructive of tissue and very low cost compared to existing assays in the market. The panel discussion will focus on the opportunities for leveraging this technology in the context of improving patient treatment management strategies in the US and low and middle income countries.
