LG206: Spatial Analysis of Combined Data Sets using Digital Histology

Friday, October 10, 2014 - 12:00
Jon Whitney, PhD
Digital histology is a rapidly developing field that takes advantage of computational power to extract new insights from images of cells and tissue.  This talk will focus on some of the ways that digital histology has been used to develop new viability measurement tools that spatially combine histological and thermal exposure data for cancer research.  Potential benefits of combining spatial data sets such as thermal, histological, and immuno-fluorescence data include improving tissue damage models, tumor removal, and understanding pre-cancerous conditions.
