CCIPD student researchers and recent alumni receive awards from CWRU’s Biomedical Engineering Department

Dr. Jacob Antunes, CCIPD and Invent Lab alumnus, was awarded the “Outstanding Graduate Career” award which recognizes Dr. Antunes’ overall excellence throughout their graduate career, including performing outstanding research, publishing high‐quality manuscripts, delivering engaging and high‐profile talks, and demonstrating leadership ability.

Amogh Hiremath and Prathyush Chirra, both CCIPD researchers and PhD candidates, each received the “Excellence in Graduate Teaching” award which recognizes their excellence in a TA position. Students receiving this award demonstrate diligence, punctuality, and initiative in the performance of their teaching assistantship duties in addition to patience and support towards their students.

Pranjal Vaidya, CCIPD researcher and PhD candidate, was awarded the “Outstanding Publication Award”. This award recognizes a student in Biomedical Engineering who has published an outstanding manuscript as first of co-first author between May 1, 2020 and April 30, 2021 of significant originality and impact to the scientific community.

Yijiang Chen and Prathyush Chirra, both CCIPD researchers and PhD candidates, each received the “Excellence in Mentorship” award which recognizes a current graduate student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering who has served as an outstanding formal or informal mentor to others in their labs or classes, including undergraduate students, other graduate students, high school students, visiting researchers, etc.
