Job Description

Develops and manages a portfolio of programs and partnerships with external youth-serving organizations, local institutions and units within the university to promote science and engineering disciplines and careers to preK-12 grade students. Me’lani leverages internal and external assets and resources so that the university can offer a variety of STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) programming opportunities including: school visits, Saturday events, invitation-only school-year programs, week-long summer camps and multi-week STEM programs.

Key Job Functions

  • Designs, plans and executes STEM-based activities, primarily targeting girls and students traditionally underrepresented in STEM fields
  • Cultivates and strengthens partnerships with external and university individuals and groups to facilitate STEM engagement with local youth
  • Recruits and mobilizes university students, staff and faculty to participate in STEM enrichment experiences with preK-12 grade students
  • Advises and assists faculty, staff and students with STEM programming ideas and projects
