BME’s Dominique Durand elected AAAS fellow

Dominique DurandDominique Durand, the Elmer Lincoln Lindseth Professor in Biomedical Engineering, has been elected to fellowship in the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
Each year the nonprofit organization elects a select portion of its membership to the rank of fellow to recognize significant efforts on behalf of the advancement of science and innovation. Durand was recognized for his contributions in the field of engineering.

He was officially inducted into the 2015 class of fellows at a ceremony in February held in Washington, DC.

Durand has also been elected to serve on the administrative committee of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, the world’s largest international society of biomedical engineers. Durand will serve as a member of the AdCom for three years, in which he will help set the strategic direction of the society.
