The Polymer Initiative of Northeast Ohio (PiNO) Conference will be held Friday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom.

This student-organized conference, originally created by graduate students in the Case Western Reserve University Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering, typically attracts about 140 students from 10 universities in various fields of study.

During the conference, students seeking internships, co-ops or full-time employment can present posters and network with industry representatives from numerous companies. The PiNO Conference consists of a company representative-judged poster session, a keynote speech from an industrial leader, professional headshots, an alumni advisory panel and a job fair.

The keynote speaker will be Anne Hardy, vice president of research and development–high performance materials at St. Gobain. She will speak about the transition from research to management.

This conference is geared toward, but not limited to, students in the following fields:

Macromolecular/polymer science and engineering;

  • Chemistry;
  • Chemical engineering;
