What is the Master of Engineering Program?

• The Master of Engineering Program:
• Offers a professional graduate engineering degree from the Case School of Engineering
• Provides engineering professionals with an opportunity to broaden their understanding of the practice of engineering in today's business environment
• Creates a learning environment which addresses critical competencies needed to enhance technical skills, business acumen and personal effectiveness in the workplace
• Emphasizes excellence -- in education, in our faculty, in student support and quality of student colleagues
• Offers evening and remote accessibility to core and elective graduate courses of the Program curriculum

How is the Master of Engineering degree different from a Master of Science degree?

The Master of Engineering is a practice oriented degree, not a research oriented degree. As such, a thesis is not required for the Master of Engineering degree. Instead, students complete a set of six core courses specifically designed to address the practice of engineering in today's business environment. In addition, students will enhance their technical competence by selecting four elective courses in a chosen discipline of engineering.
