EECS at a Glance

Research.  Our department does cutting-edge research spanning all areas of electrical engineering and computer science:  artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, control, databases, data mining, energy systems, haptics, health informatics, micro- and nano-electromechanical systems, networking, neural interfacing, robotics, signal processing, VLSI design, and many more.

Programs and Degrees.  Our department offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in:

          Electrical Engineering (BSE, MS, PhD)

          Computer Science (BA, BS, MS, PhD)

          Computer Engineering (BSE, MS, PhD)

          Systems and Control Engineering (BSE, MS, PhD, with 100-percent online master's degree available)

People.  We are*

          10 administrative and technical staff

          306 undergraduates (sophomores, juniors, seniors; 24% of CSE)

          215 graduate students (90 M.S. and 125 Ph.D.; 35% of CSE)

Location.  We are located in the Glennan (Floors 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8) and Olin (Floors 1-8) Buildings.  Our department headquarters and adjoining Sears Undergraduate Design Laboratory are located on the third floor of Glennan.

Our Department Chair is Kenneth Loparo.
