Research

The Department of Biomedical Engineering’s top-ranked research program is innovating new approaches to core-health issues and debilitating disease. The department spans both the Case School of Engineering and the School of Medicine, and leverages partnerships with other leading medical research organizations, including Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and major academic centers across the globe. This collaborative environment fosters natural research collaborations between fundamental scientists, engineers and clinical practitioners.

Additional faculty research interests include an extensive array of research programs including cardiovascular systems, cardiac bioelectricity, biomechanical systems, biomedical sensors, and metabolic systems.
