Biography:

Dr. Julius N. Korley is a businessperson, entrepreneur and scientist with expertise in several areas of biotechnology, including biomaterial, drug, drug-delivery system and medical-device development. Julius is the Associate Director of the Case-Coulter Translational Research Partnership (CCTRP) in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. This position focuses on translational medicine and the commercialization of laboratory technologies that address unmet or poorly met human healthcare needs.

Dr. Korley also co-founded biomedical engineering company Affinity Therapeutics in 2010 and has successfully helped the company raise more than $1 million in non-dilutive funding. Additionally, Dr. Korley leads all fund raising, business development, strategic partnering and licensing activities for Affinity. Dr. Korley was named Affinity Therapeutics, LLC inaugural President and CEO in August of 2015.

Prior to co-founding Affinity Therapeutics, LLC and joining Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Korley first developed his business acumen at a then startup (Momenta Pharmaceuticals: MNTA) in Boston and in graduate school at Cornell University, where he and his advisor entered the Big Red Ventures competition to commercialize technology Dr. Korley developed during his Ph.D. studies. In May of 2015, Dr. Korley earned his MBA at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
