Seiberlich awarded NSF Career Award

Nicole Seiberlich has recently been informed that the CBET division of the NSF will fund her CAREER Award. The goal of this five-year project is to develop, validate, and deploy novel techniques for tissue microstructure characterization by greatly expanding the theoretical and experimental framework of Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting (MRF) to include the role of inter-compartmental exchange (MRF-X).   
 
The overarching hypothesis of this proposal is that maps of tissue compartment volume fractions and water exchange generated with the proposed MRF-X technique can be used as a new set of biomarkers that can be used to investigate the structure and function of living tissues.
