Develop Software with a Purpose: Epic's new Voice
and Gesture Recognition Software
Join us for a demo with Case alumnus and Epic developer Dave Allen

Stop by to see how Epic is utilizing new technologies to advance patient care, and try using an X-Box Kinect to navigate our software.

In ICUs all over the country, physicians are using Epic to view and edit patient information on wall-mounted touchscreens. Providers benefit greatly by having detailed, at-a-glance data to make informed decisions regarding their patients’ care. Taking it a step further, Epic developers are now using the speech and gesture recognition powers of the X-box Kinect to allow hands free interaction with the Epic Monitor. Patient data appears on screen after their name is stated, and physicians can easily access more detailed information using voice commands.  Using gestures, physicians and other care providers can easily switch between views and monitor how the patient has been progressing over the course of his or her stay. Interested? Stop by and check it out!
