Students in Macromolecular Science study the synthesis, structure, processing, properties, and use of large molecules called polymers. These polymer molecules are the basis of materials such as plastics, fibers, rubber, films, paints, membranes, adhesives, and biological molecules such as DNA, RNA, proteins, and carbohydrates. Macromolecular Science students engage in classroom instruction to learn the properties of polymers as well as laboratory analysis and production of polymers.
