Discussions with Dean Duerk

Connecting & Communicating with CSE Students

Dr. Jeffrey L. Duerk, Dean, Case School of Engineering, seeks input, questions and concerns from students through a series of discussions scheduled at key times during the academic year. They are organized by class to focus on topics most important to each group.

  • First-year students – First week of Orientation Week; Welcome; questions and expectations

  • Second- and third-year students – Fall Semester: Exploring engineering directions; options for specialization; experiential learning opportunities

  • Fourth- and fifth-year students – March or April: Feedback on program and School of Engineering’s strengths; ideas for improvement or expansion; post-graduate avenues

The topics shown above reflect prior-year experiences or may serve as thought-starters—your group may raise other ideas and move the discourse in other directions. Each discussion is open to all CSE students in that class year. Your participation can help you make the most of your CSE experience, and insure that our program remains at the forefront of meeting students’ needs in the evolving field of engineering.
