Connect with the CWRU Engineering Community to Engage Top Talent

Interested in becoming a CWRU Engineering Co-op partner? Call us at 216.368.5119 for a conversation about the program and how we can work together to provide a learning experience that will be meaningful and valuable to our students—and to your organization. We’ll give you suggestions for what constitutes a good co-op experience. If we agree that your situation is a good fit, we can approve you as a co-op partner in that same call.

Once your organization is approved you can:

  • Access Symplicity, our online database for employers and students
    • Select “Register and Post a co-op job”
    • Submit your contact information and upload your job description
    • Once your post is reviewed and approved, you will have access to the co-op résumé book.
  • Contact students to set up an interview
    • You can interview students on campus (call 216.368.5119 to reserve a room) or on-site. Most employers prefer to interview on-site to allow the student to learn about the work environment and projects, and meet other employees.
    • Before you conclude the interview, let the student know when they can expect to hear from you regarding their status.
  • Notify the CWRU Engineering Co-op office when you have hired a co-op student.

The Process

Recruiting and hiring takes place the semester prior to the co-op job. For a summer/fall co-op, recruiting takes place February through April. For a spring/summer co-op, recruiting takes place mid-October through November.
