SDLE is hiring a Post-Doctoral Scholar in Polymeric Materials Degradation

Post-Doctoral Research Associate position is available in the SDLE Research Center in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, under the direction of Prof. Roger H. French. This materials science research focuses on optical characterization of the degradation of polymeric materials under solar radiation and environmental exposure. The research associate will facilitate photovoltaic lifetime and degradation studies, including solar and environmental exposures and optical characterization techniques including UV/vis, FTIR and light scattering, and will develop quantitative mechanistic models for degradation processes in the bulk interfaces of PV components and systems. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in materials characterization and a demonstrated ability to lead a project, mentor graduate students, analyze and organize data, and write manuscripts.
Ph.D. degree required. Experience in optical materials, optical spectroscopy is important.
