Congratulations to Dr. Satish Viswanath, research assistant professor in BME/Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics (CCIPD) who has been awarded a 3 year, $569,000 Department of Defense (DOD) new investigator grant for his proposal entitled "MRI-pathology correlation for image analytics based treatment outcome assessment and margin planning in rectal cancers".

As part of this award, Dr. Viswanath will be working to develop new image informatics tools for guiding interventions and assessing treatment response for rectal cancers using MRI.

Congrats also to Dr. Viswanath  for successfully bringing together multiple investigators from across multiple disciplines and institutions to work on this extremely important and translational project.

Congrats also to Jacob Antunes, whose preliminary results were a critical reason for success of this proposal.
