Happy Holidays!

From our bedecked halls to yours, wishing you a bright holiday season and a strong start to the new year!

Engineering Students Happy Holidays in Lights

Featured in this year's holiday greeting is a special message constructed on the Frank E. Gerace ’48 Strong Wall in the Richard ’39 and Opal Vanderhoof Infrastructure Research and Education Facility and William H. Schuette ’33 Structural Laboratory in the Department of Civil Engineering. Structural specimens like steel beams are fixed to the 30-foot-tall strong wall where they’re taken to the breaking point with up to 50,000 pounds of force. Learn more.

Thanks to the students, faculty and staff for their assistance in creating this holiday greeting: Dario Gasparini, professor of civil engineering; Michael Butler, civil engineering department engineer; Dave Conger, facilities and teaching labs director; Neil Harnar, facilities engineer; pictured students Malcolm Perkins, Rachel Lanyi and Laura Rendos (all junior civil engineering majors) and students Jessie Adkins (sophomore, computer science), Kimberly Baker (senior, civil engineering), David Bass (senior, civil engineering), Bethany Cook (first-year, materials science and engineering), Melaney Cook (sophomore, mechanical engineering and computer science), Jennifer DoVale (sophomore, civil engineering), John English (sophomore, civil engineering and international relations), Campbell Fitzhugh (sophomore, civil engineering), Kyle Nelson (junior, civil engineering), Justin Tang (junior, civil engineering), and Lauren Whitehouse (sophomore, mechanical and aerospace engineering).
