CWRU hosts Techie Camps for Northeast Ohio students

Techie Camp logoCase Western Reserve University will host 10 Techie Camps this summer. Thanks to the generous support of the Abington Foundation, the CSE Gelfand Engineering and Technology Education Fund, Coznizant, the Fowler Family Foundation, Rockwell and the White Foundation, eight camps will be offered free of charge.

The eight free camps will run from June 5 through Aug. 4 and are open to rising third-eighth grade students in the following districts: Breakthrough Schools, Cleveland Heights-University Heights City Schools, Cleveland Metropolitan School District, East Cleveland Schools, Euclid City Schools, South Euclid-Lyndhurst City Schools and Warrensville Heights City Schools.

Techie Camp is a full-day, week-long technology experience to engage elementary and middle school students in activities that can stimulate a deeper interest in technology. Topics include programming, 3D printing, robotics and app development.

The university will also host two open enrollment camps in July, which will explore programming and 3D printing.
