Explore fine art collaboration at Sears think[box] June 18

Sears think[box]Case Western Reserve University’s Larry Sears and Sally Zlotnick Sears think[box] and Zygote Press present FILE PREP, a group exhibition with artists Elizabeth Emery, Liz Maugans, Lisa Schonberg, Corrie Slawson and Rebekah Wilhelm, on Saturday, June 18 from 1-3:30 p.m.
Zygote Press, a nonprofit, artist-run print workshop that promotes contemporary fine-art printing, has been collaborating with Sears think[box] over the last three months, creating a technical and creative exchange between the innovation center and traditional printing. The artists served as ambassadors over the residency, learning approaches to digital manufacturing with the goal of sharing the information with the larger Zygote community.

Marcus Brathwaite, lead lab technician and creative consultant at think[box], was instrumental in guiding the artists through their projects. The artists collaborated with staff to create a technical document designed specifically for future print-based artists to accompany the current think[box] tutorials. This document will be available on the Zygote website and will be shared with other artists, printmakers, and local university print programs.
FILE PREP: Zygote at Sears think[box] is sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council through a Project Supported Grant.
Saturday’s event will include a tour of think[box] as well as the launch of the exhibition of artwork created during the residency program at Ink House, Zygote Press’ production satellite space located in Collinwood’s Waterloo Arts District.
1 p.m. – Meet at Ink House (423 East 156th St., Cleveland)
1:30 p.m. – Tour begins at Sears think[box]
